In 1918, a two-year college program was available, until 1930, when the four-year program was settled. In 1967, The Arkansas General Assembly turned the college into the Arkansas State University. Arkansas State University Museum. The museum is located at a distance of 2 miles from Jonesboro. It provides displays of historical items from the Mississippi River Delta region and Northeast Arkansas. Craighead Forest Park. Craighead Forest Park was opened in 1937 and it is a 692-acre park. The public can choose from different recreational activities. This is a place where visitors can go hiking or fishing, and camping areas are also provided. The campground of the park offers rustic surroundings. The park is open from 6 am to 10 pm during the year. There are several rules that visitors should take in consideration: all dogs must have leash, all vehicles must stay on paved roads or designated areas and quiet hours are between 10 pm and 6am.
